Thoughts for 2008:
"Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential."~Barack Obama

Lyrics in My Head:
"I'm sick of being treated like I have before like it's stupid standing for what I'm standing for. Like this war's really just a different brand of war. Like it doesn't cater to rich and abandon poor. Like they understand you in the back of the jet, when you can't put gas in your tank, and these fuckers are laughing their way to the bank, cashing the check asking you to have compassion, AND have SOME respect for a leader so nervous in an obvious way Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay and the rest of the world watching at the end of the day in the living room laughing like "what did he say?"~Linkin Park - Hands Held High
Poetic Tolerance:
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.
~Pastor Martin Niemöller
On Cats and Kittens:
"There is something about the presence of a cat... that seems to take the bite out of being alone." ~Louis J. CamutiI miss my Berlioz... :(

That picture happens everyday in Iraq and we are willing to put up with that. The only difference is instead of a fire fighter carrying the child it is a mother. I get more and more disgusted with our political leaders and our tolerance of them everyday.
This picture is so much more important than the picture of the firefighters from 9/11. Yet, we never see this one anymore. Its a shame the baby wasn't wrapped in a flag, then maybe this would still be relevant...
